Stephan Nardella, professionally known as Mickey Nox, is a Melbourne-based mixing and mastering engineer and the founder of his own boutique studio. Known for his precision, communication and collaborative approach, Stephan brings a high level of craftsmanship and care to every project that enters the studio.
His journey began in 2007 as a DJ and producer, eventually leading him to establish Green Fetish Records—a label that became a recognised fixture within the global techno scene. His textured, aggressive and highly individual productions earned him a respected reputation among artists and listeners, while his willingness to share knowledge established him as a valued voice within the production community.
Stephan’s move into professional mixing and mastering grew from his own experiences as an artist. Frustrated by inconsistent audio quality, poor communication and limited collaboration from engineers, he built Mickey Nox Mastering around a different philosophy: clear communication, honest premaster feedback and a genuine commitment to helping every record reach its full potential.
Today, Stephan operates Mickey Nox Mastering full-time, working with artists, producers and labels across Australia and internationally. His credits include records for Masked Wolf, Conrad Sewell, Tyron Hapi, Ben Gerrans, Reysha Rami and many others across techno, electronic, pop and commercial music.
He is also the founder of Factory 19, a music-production education and producer-development platform created to deliver practical masterclasses, workshops, courses and mentoring built around real-world studio experience.
Whether mastering a record or helping a producer strengthen their skills, Stephan’s approach remains the same: listen carefully, communicate clearly and treat every project with the attention it deserves.
